Sponsored by the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, T&T again embarked on a Climate Change Grant funded Project in July 2013. The main aim of the project was to raise awareness regarding the lack of knowledge on climate change issues in T&T. Main target groups included Primary and Secondary schools and local communities. The grant was successfully completed in December 2013.
The grant was very successful in terms of sharing knowledge about climate change issues with schools and communities; as this knowledge was previously lacking. One aspect of the "INreach" programmes was to encourage and motivate students, teachers, parents and members of the local community to become proactive in terms of initiating climate change activities. The main focus of this Climate Change Project was/is to serve as a FOLLOW UP Programme to the 2011/2012 Climate Change Grant.
The aim continues to be to generate action oriented students, teachers, schools and individuals. It is expected that they will take what they have learned from the sessions and use it in a positive and sustainable way, to ensure that this information is passed on, thereby extending the life of these programmes.
